Derek Sanders, D.D.S was born in Saginaw, spent his childhood in and around the Midland area including Wixom Lake.
He attended Hope College after graduating from Dow High. While at Hope, he earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Following his undergraduate work, he continued on to the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry graduating in 1998.
After practicing for 18 months as an associate dentist, he opened his private practice at Family Dental Center. He is proud to have started his practice and built it into the large family practice it is today with the help of his mentors, Dr. Lawrence Jackson, De. Eldon Bailey, Dr. David Warren and Dr. Darl Pochert.
In 2001, Dr Sanders took over the practice of Dr. Lawrence Jackson and added it to his existing practice.
Dr. Sanders enjoys working with patients of all ages. His focus is on patient care and comfort while offering excellent quality dentistry.
Dr. Sanders is married to Katie (Wildes), another native Midlander. Together, they have two sons, Brendan and Nolan. In his spare time, Dr. Sanders enjoys hunting, Fishing and boating. He also spends time coaching and watching his boys play hockey and baseball.
